Week 9, gently.

Your baby is the size of

a cherry

  • 2.3 cm long
  • 2 g

Your baby technically graduates from embryo to fetus this week.

“Every essential organ is here, in something smaller than a cherry.”

What’s happening inside

The tail is nearly gone. Fingers and toes are separating. All essential organs are forming or already present. The embryonic period ends around now — next week, your baby is officially a fetus.

How you might feel

Your waistband may feel tighter even though you are not really showing. Bloating and pregnancy hormones together can make clothes feel off before a bump appears.
