Baby is laying down fat under the skin now — preparing for a life outside.

What’s happening inside

Fat begins to form under the skin — it will keep the baby warm after birth. The skeleton is transitioning from flexible cartilage to harder bone.

How you might feel

A side-sleeping position (especially the left side) is now the recommended default. A pillow between the knees helps enormously.
