What’s happening inside
There is no embryo yet. By convention, "week 1" begins on the first day of your last menstrual period. The uterine lining is thickening in quiet preparation.
How you might feel
You may not know anything is beginning. Your body is simply doing what it does — shedding, then preparing. That is enough.
