Your baby is the size of

a sweet pea

  • 0.4 cm long

An ultrasound this week can often pick up the tiny flickering heartbeat.

“Smaller than a pea, and already a face beginning.”

What’s happening inside

Facial features begin — tiny depressions that will become eyes and nostrils. Arm and leg buds are visible. The heart has four chambers and beats around 110 times per minute.

How you might feel

Morning sickness is often at its peak between weeks 6 and 10. It is called "morning" out of habit — for most people it can visit any hour.
